I've been intrigued by this place for years. I've driven by it many times and wondered...safe, clean, food, open? I've been by at 4PM, 7PM, 10PM, 2AM, and it is always busy. So I chose a "safe" time, a Monday at 1PM. Simply said, this is a bar. It looks like it could be rough at night, but in the day, it serves up some great pub food. It isn't dangerous, it is casual. The decor is rough nautical, with a little Marilyn Monroe thrown in. I had the platter special (a meat and two sides) for $6.50 ( yelp.com/biz_photos/PyIa… ). The 8-10 fried shrimp were outstanding. I mean OUTSTANDING. The fried asparagus spears were unique and damn good. The PBR was perfect for the scene. This is highly recommended. The wife, on the other hand, had what can best be described as a Swanson Frozen Dinner. Her burger was a frozen patty and her fries looked like frozen Ore-Ida. That selection is not recommended. Both meals came with tea, which means a glass of tea, a extra glass with ice, and a personal pitcher of tea. Nice. Service was pleasant and helpful. The crowd was diverse, and large enough at that time of day to speak to the popularity of the place. In summary, this is a great place to have a lunch in your bathing suit when you need a break from the 105 degree heat index.

Good corn nuggets, cold beer, and friendly service! But wish they hadn't been out of the asparagus fries! And it is quite smokey.

Oh Richards... you so crazy! I used to frequent this place more often a few years ago, not so much anymore. It's by far the most divey and sketch place in Mt P. Don't get the wrong idea, it's totally safe and in any way scary but it is sketch. If you go there you'll know what I mean. It's full of folks from all walks of life including older, younger, lawyers, bikers, and everything in between. FYI - it's the only bar in Mt P you can still smoke in so it does get funky in there. They somehow are grandfathered in... I have no idea why or how. They have pool tables and arcade games, they serve beer in cans, and the bathroom is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen... or smelled. The food I've had has been good, but I'm not sure how reliable that is because I have never been here sober. Although I'm standing by the fact that the Asparagus Fries are delicious. Not for everybody's taste but worth checking out.

The bad.... Honestly, there is only one reason why you go here.... Because it's on your way home and you just want one more beer. This place is absolutely the most disgustingly dirty dive bar I've ever been in. Last time I was there, I went into the bathroom and there was splattered blood all over the place. Obviously someone got their ass beat and tried cleaning up in that crusty walled little stench bucket. The pool tables have never shot true and are probably infested with all types of human excretions. I've heard the food is good there but just thinking about order something there that I am suppose to put into my mouth makes me want to vomit. Also, you can smoke in there... Being a consistently failing quitter of such cancer sticks, at first it's kind of nice to sit inside, crack a beer and light a smoke. 10 minutes into being there and you want to go get fresh air. yuck fest 2K The good.... You can make bad decisions here and never feel guilty. If you know how to shoot decent pool, you can make some decent money as long as you choose the right opponent. This is an all walks of life kind of place. You'll always see something interesting there every single time you walk into this place.

Great hole in the wall bar. Old school darts, pool, video games and a great great down to earth crew of bartenders. I had my first experience there and we had a blast but if you want sports, they do not have ESPN. They have a tube TV. Love it.
